My Favourites for 2012

The last day of 2012 has arrived. It has been a pretty exciting year for me scrapwise. I was and still am a very proud designer for Bo Bunny, who released some amazing new collections throughout this year. Also two new doors opened: I started designing for Once Upon a Sketch and Zeus & Zoe, two DT's that I just love to be on. Next year I can add another amazing DT to my list: Maja Design. Furthermore I have had several publications in magazines this year, something that I was really excited about. It still feels like a dream come true to see my own work published on paper :) 

I thought I would end this year with a share of some of my favourite creations from 2012. So here they are in no particular order.

Het jaar 2012 is bijna officieel ten einde. Het was op scrapgebied (maar ook op andere gebieden) een heel mooi jaar voor mij. Ik was en ben nog steeds met heel veel trots DT-lid bij Bo Bunny, die ook dit jaar weer prachtige lijnen heeft uitgebracht. Ook zijn er twee mooie nieuwe kansen bij gekomen: ik zit nu in het DT van Once Upon a Sketch en van Zeus & Zoe. In 2013 komt daar Maja Design bij. Dit jaar heb ik ook mijn eerste publicaties in een tijdschrift gehad. Nog steeds kan ik het bijna niet geloven dat mijn eigen werk daarin gedrukt staat - zo gaaf :)

Om dit jaar af te sluiten, laat ik een aantal van mijn favoriete creaties van 2012 zien. Hier komen ze dan in willekeurige volgorde.

Canvas 'Love'

Yesterday I had a belated Christmas celebration with some of my friends. We all bought presents for one other person and made him a surprise as well. Because it has been quite some time since the last moment I worked with papier-maché and other such things, I decided to make a canvas. I had this photo of my friend and his girlfriend and used Prima's Nature Garden collection to make a canvas for it. I hid the presents in the backside of the canvas. Fortunately my friend was very pleased with both the canvas and his presents.

Gisteren heb ik 'Sinterkerst' gevierd met een paar vrienden. We hadden al eerder lootjes getrokken en zouden surprises voor elkaar gaan maken. Nu ben ik alleen niet zo'n ster in het maken van surprises. De laatste keer dat ik er één heb gemaakt, is in groep 8, zo'n acht jaar geleden. Daarom besloot ik om niet met een kartonnen doos of iets te werken, maar een canvas te scrappen als surprise. Op de foto staat de vriend die ik heb getrokken, samen met zijn vriendin. De cadeautjes had ik in de achterkant van het canvas verstopt. Gelukkig viel het canvas goed in de smaak en was hij er heel blij mee :)

Powder Mountain Tag & Christmas Photos

I just realized I still have this unshown tag that I made for Christmas. I have used the gorgeous Bo Bunny 'Powder Mountain' collection here. For the design of my tag I was inspired by this month's sketch at The Craft's Meow. 

Ik kwam er net achter dat ik deze tag nog niet op mijn blog had laten zien. Hij hangt al een tijdje bij iemand tussen de andere kerstkaarten, maar heeft nog niet op mijn blog gepronkt ;) Voor deze tag heb ik de prachtige 'Powder Mountain' collectie van Bo Bunny gebruikt. Inspiratie heb ik dit keer gehaald uit de mooie sketch van The Craft's Meow.

Also I thought I would show a few Christmas photos. This year we decided to make a photo with all the girls and one with all the men in our family. Since my uncle and aunt recently moved to Sweden, my other aunt is holding up her phone with a photo of her, so she was still a little bit with us.

En zoals beloofd nog een paar foto's van eerste Kerstdag. Gelukkig is mijn familie er inmiddels aan gewend dat ik mijn camera constant in de aanslag heb en vonden ze het niet erg dat ik over de hele avond zo'n 150 foto's heb gemaakt ;) Dit jaar besloten we een foto met alle vrouwen en één met alle mannen te maken. Eén van mijn tantes houdt een foto van een andere tante vast. Zij is een tijdje geleden naar Zweden verhuisd en zo was ze er toch nog een beetje bij.  

Also I couldn't resist catching this photo of my niece Elise, while she was playing hide and seek. She always makes me smile! 

Ook kon ik het niet laten dit plaatje van Elise te schieten, terwijl ze fanatiek aan het verstoppertje spelen was.

A lay-out about my mother for Zeus & Zoe

I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was just great. On December 25th my mother's family came over for a Christmas dinner and on December 26th we went to see my father's family. Of course I also took a lot of photos ;) I hope to show some of them in my next blogpost. 

For now I have a lay-out to show you that I made for Zeus & Zoe Etsy store. I used some of the gorgeous vintage buttons, a laser-cut key and crown and a piece of lacing from my Zeus & Zoe kit. Their vintage goodies are just so wonderful to work with! 

Ik hoop dat jullie een fijne Kerst hebben gehad. Onze Kerst was heerlijk! Op eerste kerstdag was de familie van mijn moeders kant bij ons thuis en op tweede kerstdag zijn we naar opa en oma van mijn vaders kant geweest. Ik heb ook weer de nodige foto's gemaakt ;) Daar hoop ik er in mijn volgende blogpost een aantal van te laten zien.

Voor nu heb ik een lay-out te laten zien die ik voor Zeus & Zoe heb gemaakt. De vintage knoopjes, laser-cut sleutel en kroon en het stukje kant zijn allemaal afkomstig uit mijn Zeus & Zoe kit. Ze hebben de meest mooie vintage embellishments - een genot om mee te werken!

This lay-out is a tribute to my mother. I have journaled on the backside about how much she means to me.

De lay-out heb ik opgedragen aan mijn moeder. Op de achterkant staat een stukje tekst over hoeveel ze voor me betekent.

Merry Christmas

It's officially Christmas in Holland now! And guess what, I got most of my Christmas cards done in time this year :) Today I will show you my last two Christmas cards for this year. 

The first one is a tag that I made for Zeus & Zoe Etsy store. They have a wonderful 'Sparkle and shine Christmas' challenge this month and there still is some time to play along to be in the running for an amazing prize. This is my example for this challenge. The papers, music note paper, glittered lace and vintage button were all part of my gorgeous Zeus & Zoe kit. 

Vandaag, de dag voor Kerst, heb ik de laatste hand gelegd aan mijn kerstkaarten. Ik heb ze bijna allemaal op tijd af gekregen dit jaar. Voor volgend jaar weet ik dat ik toch iets eerder moet beginnen ;) Vandaag laat ik dan ook mijn laatste twee kerstkaartjes voor dit jaar zien. 

De eerste is een tag die ik heb gemaakt voor het Zeus & Zoe blog. Ze hebben een 'Sparkle and shine Christmas' wedstrijd voor deze maand en er is nog tijd om mee te doen. Je kunt er een leuke prijs mee winnen! Deze tag is mijn voorbeeld voor de wedstrijd. Het papier, het muzieknotenvel, het kant en het gouden knoopje komen allemaal van Zeus & Zoe. 

For my second card I used one of my all time favourite Christmas collections from Bo Bunny: 'Noel'. I actually made this card in less than 1 hour, which is quite a record for me...

Voor mijn tweede kaart heb ik een wat oudere lijn van Bo Bunny gebruikt: 'Noel', nog steeds één van mijn favoriete kerstlijnen. Deze kaart was in minder dan een uur af: een persoonlijk record... ;)

Bo Bunny Powder Mountain

First of all, thank you so much for your sweet comments on my previous blogpost! It means a lot to me :) 

Today I have two projects to share that I made with Bo Bunny's gorgeous Powder Mountain collection. These papers are such a lovely mix of warm brown and wintery blue. They are really so nice to work with. 

My lay-out was made for a 'lay-out formula post' at the Bo Bunny blog. We got to choose 3 sheets of patterned paper, 1 sheet of Double Dot cardstock, 1 package of embellishments and 1 stickersheet to make a lay-out with.

Vandaag heb ik twee nieuwe Bo Bunny creaties te laten zien. Voor beide heb ik de prachtige Powder Mountain collectie gebruikt. Deze lijn is een mooie combinatie van warm bruin en zachte winterse kleurtjes. Een geweldige lijn om mee te werken!

Mijn lay-out is voor een 'lay-outrecept' op het Bo Bunny blog. We mochten drie vellen papier, één vel Double Dot cardstock, 1 pakje embellishments en 1 vel stickers naar keuze gebruiken.

Maja Design Creative Team 2013!

Today I have some really exciting news to tell you, that I have been dieing to share with you :)

Do you know the Swedish brand Maja Design? They have some truly gorgeous paper collections with a wonderful vintage and Scandinavian feel to them. It was love at first sight for me!

So I'm so excited to share with you that I'll be joining the Maja Design creative team during the next year. You can find the official announcement here :)

Vandaag kan ik dan eindelijk een heel gaaf nieuwtje vertellen, dat ik veel te lang geheim moest houden ;)

2 Christmas cards

Tonight's post will be a quick one showing another two Christmas cards that I made. I am still determined to get them all done in time this year ;)

Vanavond een snelle blogpost met twee kerstkaartjes. Ik ben vastbesloten ze allemaal nog op tijd af te krijgen dit jaar ;)

 For my first card I used the gorgeous Maja Design 'It's a vintage Christmas' papers. These papers are all I could have wished for: nostalgic, vintage, warm...just love them!

Voor mijn eerste kaart heb ik papier gebruikt van Maja Design. Hun 'It's a vintage Christmas' lijn past helemaal in mijn straatje: nostalgisch, vintage, warme kleurtjes. Helemaal leuk!

For my second card I was inspired by the holiday card challenge at the Webster's Pages ning. These papers are from two years ago, but I still had a little bit of them in my stash.

Mijn tweede kaart is gemaakt voor de wedstrijd bij Webster's Pages. Dit papier heb ik al zo'n twee jaar liggen, maar eindelijk heb ik er dan echt iets van gebruikt.

Guest Designer for ScrapAfrica

This month I am a guest designer for the Scrap Africa challenge blog. The very talented Evgenia Petzer has started this wonderful challenge blog and they have some very inspiring challenges each month for both scrapbookers and cardmakers. The assignment for the current challenge is to incorporate a filmstrip in your project. My lay-out is titled 'Girl Time' and it features a photo of my scrapfriends Gerry and Corina and Gerry's sweet daughter Leanne. It's always nice to have some quality time with only girls :)

Een tijdje geleden kreeg ik een e-mail van mijn DT-maatje Evgenia Petzer of ik gastdesigner wilde zijn voor ScrapAfrica. Dit is een leuk challenge blog, dat elke maand twee wedstrijden organiseert voor zowel scrappers als kaartenmakers. De huidige wedstrijd is om een filmstrip in je creatie te verwerken. In mijn geval een mooie filmstrip van Tim Holtz. Ik heb er deze meidenlay-out van gemaakt, met op de foto mijn scrapvriendinnen Gerry en Corina en Gerry's dochter Leanne.

I made these two Christmas tags with the C'est Magnifique December kit. These adorable angels on the Pion Design 'Collage' sheet made it so easy to whip up these two tags in no time at all!

Deze twee tags heb ik gemaakt met de C'est Magnifique december kit. Met de mooie engeltjes op het Pion Design papier was het een fluitje van een cent om snel twee tags te maken :)

Nutcracker Sweet card

Hi there! Another week has started and I thought I would start it with a Christmas card again. I enjoyed a wonderful day scrapping with my friend Jolanda yesterday and we both worked really hard to get some Christmas cards done ;) This is one that I worked on earlier this week. I made it for the challenge at Graphic 45, which is to make a project using some of their lovely Nutcracker Sweet papers. I just love them!

De week is weer begonnen - gelukkig iets minder koud dan vorige week :) Komende week heb ik weer veel kerstkaarten te laten zien. Ik heb dit weekend een goede inhaalslag kunnen maken! Gisteren heb ik heerlijk met Jolanda gescrapt en hebben we er allebei aardig wat kunnen maken. Deze kaart maakte ik voor de wedstrijd bij Graphic 45 met hun prachtige Nutcracker Sweet papier.

Winter has definitely arrived in Holland! Our whole country is covered with a beautiful layer of snow. 

Although I love snow, I am really not a winter kinda person. I definitely prefer some lovely summer weather and high temperatures. So that's what this lay-out is all about. I made it with the gorgeous C'est Magnifique December Kit. 

Wat is het toch mooi, al die sneeuw! Het heeft nog steeds iets magisch als je 's ochtends de gordijnen opendoet en tegen een wit landschap aankijkt. 

Alleen de kou vind ik iets minder. Doe mij maar een warm zomerzonnetje en korte-mouwen-weer. Maar ja, sneeuw en 25 graden - dat is nu eenmaal geen combinatie! ;)

Met de C'est Magnifique december kit heb ik deze lay-out gemaakt over mezelf als grote koukleum.

Rock - C'est Magnifique December sketch

Today I have another lay-out to share that I made as a guest designer for C'est Magnifique. This lay-out is all about my dad and I titled it 'Rock'. The journaling in the left corner says: "Dad, you are like a rock. Even in the heaviest storm you manage to stay strong."

Vandaag kan ik een nieuwe lay-out laten zien die ik heb gemaakt als gastdesigner voor C'est Magnifique. Het lijkt wel alsof ik de laatste tijd steeds vaker over mijn vader scrap. Ook op deze lay-out staat hij namelijk in de spotlight! Ik heb mijn lay-out 'Rots' genoemd. Tijdens een schrijfcursus heb ik geleerd om meer met metaforen te werken en ik vond dit wel een mooie voor mijn vader:

 "Papa, jij bent als een rots.

Zelfs in de sterkste storm sta jij nog stevig."

 I made this cream flower myself with the pleated ribbon that was part of this kit. I simply rolled up the ribbon and stitched through it to make the flower. 

De bovenste bloem heb ik zelf gemaakt met het satijnlint uit de kit. Ik heb het opgerold en toen alles vastgestikt om er deze bloem mee te maken.

Noel for Once Upon a... Sketch

I can't believe it's December already! This means it's time for a new challenge at Once Upon a Sketch. This chalenge is all about December:

Wauw, het is alweer december. Dit jaar gaat zo snel voorbij! Het is ook tijd voor een nieuwe uitdaging bij Once Upon a Sketch en die luidt als volgt:

 Theme:  It's December...

We would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "'It's December.. " however you like based on the following sketch. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below. Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is . Hidden journalling is perfectly fine.

Ideas for Journalling: We know that not everyone celebrates Christmas in December, but if you do we would love to hear all about it. If not, then tell us anything that you like about December..celebratory on not! 

I decided to scrap a photo of my grandparents at Christmas two years ago. The journaling is addressed to my grandma and says:

"Dear grandma,

December isn't a very easy month for you.

So it's wonderful to see how Christmas makes you shine.

Christmas 2010"

Ik heb een foto gebruikt van mijn opa en oma, genomen met Kerst twee jaar geleden. December is voor mijn oma niet echt een makkelijke maand met zijn korte dagen en het koude weer. Maar de gezelligheid met Kerst doet haar zichtbaar goed.

In mijn journaling staat dan ook het volgende:

"Lieve oma,

December is voor u niet altijd even makkelijk.

Het is dan ook prachtig om te zien hoe u straalt met Kerst.

Two cards

I'm still in the cardmaking mood, so I'm starting off the weekend with two more cards.

The first one is made for Zeus & Zoe Etsy store. I used some of the gorgeous papers and embellishments (the crown and ornaments) that Marivic sent me to make this birthday tag. 

Ik begin het weekend dit keer met weer twee kaartjes. 

De eerste is gemaakt voor Zeus & Zoe. Zowel het papier als de mooie kroon en ornamentjes komen uit mijn DT kit. De vlinder is een Cheery Lynn stans - één van mijn nieuwe aanwinsten.

This second card is for Bo Bunny. I made it for the feature on Mistletoe on the Bo Bunny blog today. Mistletoe is one of the prettiest and most colourful Christmas collections - it is so beautiful! I choose the traditional red/green colour scheme for this card and added two chipboard presents as a finishing touch.

De tweede kaart heb ik gemaakt voor Bo Bunny. Hun Mistletoe lijn is een heerlijk vrolijke kerstcollectie. Ik heb gekozen voor traditioneel rood/groen en heb er deze kaart mee gemaakt.
