Elegant & Feminine with Maja Design "Fika"

Today it was my turn on the Maja Design blog to post a project that I made with their gorgeous papers. I decided to play with the amazing "Ska vi ta en Fika?" collection, but used it in a slightly different way. That is, instead of scrapping some coffee photos with these papers, I focused on the purple and gold tones to make a very feminine lay-out with them. As you can see, the warm colours in the “Fika” papers are just perfect for scrapping sepia toned photos. The possibilities with this collection are endless!
I titled my lay-out ‘In de wolken’, which is a Dutch saying that is similar to the English expression ‘On cloud 9′. Just before this photo was taken, I got my hair treated with a curling iron. Since I was a little child, I always wished to wake up with curls some day, so I was really excited to have curls in my hair – even though it was only for one day.

Maja Design papers:
“Fika” collection:
Blommor pa bordet
Sockerkaka-bs
Mandelkaka-bs
Hemgjord Saft
Nybakat
Hemma hos mig
Björnbaskakor

Other supplies:
Pink Paislee: burlap flowers, chipboard hearts
Prima Marketing: wood clock, resin bird
Bo Bunny: doilies
Joy! Crafts: clouds dies, butterfly border die
Martha Stewart: border punches
Tim Holtz: distress ink, distress tool, alphabet dies

On my lay-out I also used two Joy! Crafts dies, that are for sale at Every Lil' Thing. I used the gorgeous Noor Design butterflies border die and the tiny cloud dies. The clouds were first accentuated with distress ink and then layered on top of each other with foamtape.

Thank you for your visit to my blog today! Have a wonderful day!
