Two Summery Tags for Creative Embellishments

Hi!

How's the weather at your place? In Holland, the weather is slowly beginning to look like it's fall already. So, as I'm more of a summer kind of person, I decided to make two summer tags to actually bring the sun back into my room. I made both tags for Creative Embellishments, using their wonderful chipboard shapes.

Vinden jullie ook niet dat het weer steeds meer op herfst begint te lijken? Aangezien ik meer een zomermeisje ben, besloot ik daarom maar eens twee zomerse tags te maken om het zonnetje weer in huis te halen. Beide tags maakte ik voor Creative Embellishments met hun prachtige chipboardfiguren.

For my first tag, I used the Grunge Circles and the Happy Words Set from Creative Embellishments. I only slightly inked the chipboard shapes with brown distress ink. 

Op mijn eerste tag gebruikte ik de Grunge Circles en de Happy Words Set van Creative Embellishments. Ik heb alleen de randen van het chipboard licht aangezet met bruine inkt.

When making this tag, I was inspired by the current Maja Design moodboard. I drew inspiration from the colours and from the summer/sail theme of the moodboard. 

Bij het maken van deze tag liet ik me inspireren door het moodboard van Maja Design. Ik haalde inspiratie uit de kleuren en uit het zomer-/zeilthema van het moodboard.

My second tag is more romantic, but still summery at the same time. I made it for a friend who's about to travel to the United States with her boyfriend. 

Mijn tweede tag is meer romantisch, maar ik heb tegelijkertijd geprobeerd deze tag ook een zomers tintje te geven. Ik maakte deze tag voor een vriendin die op het punt staat om met haar vriend een geweldige reis naar de VS te maken.

On this tag, I used the Creative Embellishments clock hands, which I used as hinges and decorated with heart-shaped pearls.

Op deze tag gebruikte ik klokwijzers van Creative Embellishments als details. Ik heb ze versierd met harvormige pareltjes.

My Card for Mother's Day with Maja Design Papers

Since it was Mother's Day yesterday, I decided to make a card for my mother. I wanted to make a feminine and romantic card and decided to play with some of my favourite Maja Design papers. This card was the final result:

Aangezien het gisteren moederdag was, besloot ik een kaart te maken voor mijn moeder. Ik wilde er graag een romantische en vrouwelijke kaart van maken en besloot aan de slag te gaan met papier van Maja Design. Deze kaart is het geworden:

With this card I'm playing along with the current mood board challenge over at the Maja Design blog. I was inspired by the colours and by the romantic feel to the mood board. 

Met deze kaart doe ik mee aan de moodboard-uitdaging bij Maja Design. Ik liet me inspireren door de kleuren en de romantische sfeer van het moodboard.

Explore (123 Challenge Blog)

It's time for yet another lay-out challenge :) I came across the 123 Challenge Blog and loved their challenge, so I decided to play along. I made this lay-out about my father for it. He always loves to take pictures during our vacations, especially pictures of beautiful architecture. So I couldn't resist taking a picture of him taking a picture ;) 

Het is weer tijd voor een nieuwe lay-outchallenge :) Ik kwam via via op de 123 Challenge Blog terecht en vond hun wedstrijd zo leuk dat ik besloot om mee te doen. Ik maakte voor deze wedstrijd onderstaande lay-out met een foto van mijn vader. Hij vindt het altijd leuk om foto's te maken op vakantie, vooral van mooie architectuur. Ik kon het niet laten om een foto te maken van hem terwijl hij geconcentreerd met zijn camera aan de slag was ;)

The challenge was: chocolate, explore and squares. Almost all the papers that I used are chocolate brown, I used the word "Explore" for my title and the squares are the different layers of paper behind my photo.

De wedstrijd was: gebruik chocoladebruin, explore en vierkanten. Bijna alle papier dat ik heb gebruikt is chocoladebruin, ik heb het woord "Explore" voor mijn titel gebruikt en de vierkanten zijn de verschillende lagen papier achter mijn foto.

The papers that I used are from Maja Design's Vintage Frost Basics collection and from their Gammaldags Jul collection. The hot-air balloons are from Imaginarium Designs and were covered with brown embossing powder. The flowers, wood figures and resin feathers and clock are from Prima Marketing.

Het papier dat ik heb gebruikt, komt uit Maja Design's Vintage Frost Basics collectie en uit hun Gammaldags Jul collectie. De luchtballonnen zijn van Imaginarium Designs en heb ik voorzien van een laagje bruin embossingpoeder. De bloemen, houten figuurtjes en resin veren en klok zijn van Prima Marketing.

I thought this adorable looking glass was perfect to accent a detail of my photo.

Dit leuke vergrootglas had precies de juiste grote om een detail van mijn foto te accentueren.

Card with Stars *Creative Embellishments Challenge*

A friend of mine bought his first house, so I had a wonderful housewarming party last night. I made my friend a red, blue and grey card with lots of stars on it, inspired by the wonderful Creative Embellishments July challenge. 

Een vriend van mij heeft zijn eerste eigen huis gekocht, dus gisteren had ik een leuke housewarming. Deze kaart maakte ik voor de trotse huiseigenaar. Het werd dit keer een rood, blauw, grijze kaart met veel sterren, geïnspireerd door de Creative Embellishments juli challenge. 

The papers are from the wonderful Maja Design Life by the Sea collection. For all the stars, I used the Sizzix Framelits Dies Stars. I attached a few stars with foamtape to make them stand out more. 

Het papier komt uit de Maja Design Life by the Sea collectie. Om de sterren uit te stansen gebruikte ik de Sizzix Framelits Stars set. Een aantal sterren heb ik verhoogd met 3D tape.

Dusty Attic Challenge

Hi!

Today I had some time off and decided to play along with a nice moodboard challenge that I found over at the Dusty Attic blog. This is the cats lay-out that I made for it. The photo was taken in a 'cats café' in Amsterdam. You can drink coffee or tea there being surrounded by 9 adorable cats. It was a wonderful experience!

Vandaag had ik wat tijd vrij en besloot ik mee te doen aan een moodboard challenge op de Dusty Attic blog. Daarvoor maakte ik deze kattenlayout. De foto is gemaakt in het kattencafé in Amsterdam. Daar kun je thee of koffie drinken tussen 9 lieve katten. Wat een leuk concept! 

I was inspired by the colour combination (orange and blue) in the mood board and also drew inspiration from the quote in it. I wrote down the quote at the left side of my lay-out. 

Ik liet me inspireren door de kleurencombinatie (oranje/blauw) in het moodboard en door de quote op de middelste afbeelding. Deze heb ik links op mijn lay-out uitgeschreven.

I used several chipboard gears and a chipboard title from Dusty Attic. I covered them all with brown embossing powder, which I heat embossed. 

Ik heb verschillende chipboard tandwielen en een chipboard titel van Dusty Attic op mijn lay-out gebruikt. Alle chipboard figuren heb ik voorzien van een laagje bruin embossingpoeder, dat ik met de heat tool heb verhit. 

I used papers from Maja Design's Walking in the Forest collection. I also did some stamping with Bo Bunny textures stamps. The flowers that I used are from Prima and Petaloo.

Ik heb papier gebruikt van Maja Design uit de Walking in the Forest collectie. Ook heb ik wat gestempeld met stempels van Bo Bunny. De bloemen die ik heb gebruikt, zijn van Prima en Petaloo.

Love with Imaginarium Design Chipboard

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! Yesterday I spent some quality time with my boyfriend and today my niece Elise is celebrating her 4th birthday, so I'm enjoying a fun family weekend!

Today I'm here to share a new lay-out that I made for Imaginarium Design with some of their fabulous chipboard pieces. I used papers from Maja Design's Coffee in the Arbour collection to make a soft love lay-out. 

Ik hoop dat jullie een heerlijk weekend hebben! Gisteren heb ik wat quality time met mijn vriend gehad en vandaag gaan we naar de vierde verjaardag van mijn nichtje Elise. Wat vliegt de tijd: mijn 'kleine' nichtje gaat gewoon al bijna naar de kleuterklas! 

De afgelopen dagen heb ik ook aardig wat gescrapt, waaronder deze lay-out voor Imaginarium Design. Op mijn lay-out heb ik weer verschillende mooie chipboard embellishments van Imaginarium gebruikt. Het papier is van Maja Design en komt uit hun nieuwe Coffee in the Arbour collectie.

All chipboard embellishments were covered with white embossing ink and then decorated with white pearls for an elegant touch.

Alle chipboard figuren zijn bedekt met een laagje wit embossingpoeder en zijn daarna versierd met witte pareltjes. 

My lay-out was inspired by the gorgeous mood board over at Scrap Around The World. I was inspired by the dreamy colour palette (blue, pink and cream) and by the romantic elements in the mood board. They inspired me to make a soft and romantic lay-out too. The 'Wonderful life' quote also inspired me to make a very positive lay-out about what makes life wonderful: love! 

Voor mijn lay-out liet ik me inspireren door het mooie mood board van Scrap Around The World. Mijn inspiratie komt vooral uit het dromerige kleurenpalet (blauw, roze en crème) en de romantische elementen in het moodboard. Die inspireerden me om een zachte, romantische lay-out te maken. Ook inspireerde de 'Wonderful life' quote mij om over iets te scrappen dat het leven mooi maakt: liefde!

Cherished Treasures for Imaginarium Design

Hi! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. We celebrated King's Day  yesterday. It's our national holiday dedicated to our King and Queen. This year was a very special one for me, because the King and Queen came to visit the city where my boyfriend lives. So we headed off to the centre early yesterday morning and were lucky enough to get to see them. It was a wonderful day! I also managed to take some photos, which you will probably see on a lay-out very soon. 

Anyway, since my blog is actually a scrapbook blog, I also have something to share with you that is more scrapbook related ;) My April blogpost for Imaginarium Design just went live a few hours ago and I would like to show you one of my DT lay-outs. It's a pink and soft lay-out about my niece Elise who was drawing silly faces once again ;)

Hoi! Ik hoop dat jullie een geslaagde Koningsdag hebben gehad gisteren. Dit jaar was een speciale Koningsdag voor mij, omdat de koning naar Amstelveen kwam en mijn vriend praktisch naast het Stadshart woont. In alle vroegte ging ik dan ook met hem, zijn nicht en mijn vader richting het centrum in de hoop een glimp van de koning op te vangen. En met succes: we hebben het koningspaar en prinses Beatrix gezien, hebben veel foto's gemaakt en ik kreeg zelfs nog een handje van prins Constantijn. Een erg leuke dag dus! De foto's zullen jullie vast snel terugzien op een lay-out.

Anyway, omdat dit officieel een scrapblog is, heb ik ook weer iets van scrap te laten zien. Mijn april blogpost voor Imaginarium Design is gisteren online gegaan, dus kan ik nu een van mijn DT lay-outs voor hen laten zien. Het is een roze en zachte lay-out over mijn nichtje Elise, die het weer eens niet kon laten om gekke bekken voor de foto te trekken ;)

I incorporated a few lovely Imaginarium hot-air balloons to give my lay-out a dreamy look.

Ik heb op mijn lay-out een aantal luchtballonnen van Imaginarium gebruikt voor een dromerige uitstraling.

Besides, I also incorporated a beautiful chipboard title from Imaginarium Design. Both the hot-air balloons and the title were covered with white embossing powder and were then heat embossed.

Daarnaast heb ik een mooie chipboard titel van Imaginarium Design op mijn lay-out verwerkt. Zowel de luchtballonnen als de titel zijn voorzien van een laagje wit embossing poeder en zijn daarna verhit om het poeder te laten smelten.

Safe Haven for Imaginarium Design

Good morning!

Today I have a lay-out to share that I made for Imaginarium Design with their beautiful chipboard embellisments. One of my favourite chipboard items that I received was the large and elegant gate. I decided to use this gate as my starting point for this lay-out and gave it a prominent place in my design.

Vandaag wil ik graag een lay-out laten zien die ik heb gemaakt voor Imaginarium Design met hun prachtige chipboard embellishments. Eén van mijn favoriete chipboard items uit mijn DT-pakket was het grote en sierlijke hek en op deze lay-out over mijn vader heb ik dat een prominente plaats gegeven.

These are the chippies that I used on my lay-out. Both the gate and the corners were covered with white embossing powder and were then heat embossed.

Dit zijn de twee soorten chipboard die ik heb gebruikt. Zowel het hek als de hoekornamenten heb ik voorzien van een laagje wit embosspoeder en vervolgens met de heat tool verhit.

My last post on the Maja Design blog

My post on the Maja Design blog today is a special one, because it will be my last post on their blog. It has been a true honour to design for this amazing company throughout this year and to get to work with some of the  most gorgeous high-quality papers available and I’m really sad to say goodbye. But I did not want to make the blogpost a really sad one and therefore decided to make and share two tags with my all time favourite Maja collection: "Vintage Autumn Basics". Creating with 'Vintage Frost Basics' (Maja Design)

Today I have a lay-out to share with which I'm introducing both a gorgeous collection and a gorgeous person to you :) I made this lay-out with the brand new "Vintage Frost Basics" collection from Maja Design. The boy on the photo is my boyfriend, Jeroen, and this is the first lay-out that I made about him. I’m really happy with my new ‘scrapbook subject’ and I’m sure I will be creating many more lay-outs about him in the future.

Vandaag heb ik een lay-out te delen waarmee ik zowel een mooie papierlijn als een mooi persoon wil introduceren :) Deze lay-out is gemaakt met de gloednieuwe "Vintage Frost Basics" collectie van Maja Design. De jongen op de foto is mijn vriend, Jeroen, en dit is mijn eerste lay-out over hem. Ik ben dolblij met mijn nieuwe 'scraponderwerp', dus jullie kunnen nog veel meer lay-outs over hem verwachten in de toekomst.

Usually I’m really much into feminine, shabby chic and romantic papers, so I hardly ever create something with a more grungy and masculine look to it. But since I didn’t want to introduce my boyfriend on a pink lay-out, I figured I should give the grungy look a go for a change. The beautiful papers from the ‘Vintage Frost Basics’ collection made it really easy to do so!

Normaal gesproken kun je mijn stijl definiëren als vrouwelijk, shabby chic en romantisch. Het komt dan ook niet zo vaak voor dat ik met stoere mannenkleuren aan de slag ga. Maar aangezien ik het Jeroen niet aan wilde doen op een roze lay-out te worden geïntroduceerd, besloot ik me toch maar eens van mijn 'donkere' kant te laten zien. Met het mooie papier uit de 'Vintage Frost Basics' collectie was dat gelukkig een fluitje van cent!

Maja Design Mood Board & 'Merry Christmas'

The new November mood board is up on the Maja Design blog and let me say it's a beautiful one! This month's mood board is inspired by the colours from our Christmas collections, but will also suit other kinds of occassions perfectly. As an example for this mood board I made this Christmas card with the gorgeous "It's Christmas Time" collection.
